Trump knew coronavirus was 'deadly', downplayed it: Woodward book

United States President Donald Trump has admitted he knowingly played down the threat of the coronavirus, even though he knew it was deadly.

The admission was made in a series of interviews with journalist Bob Woodward for a book to be released later this month.

His opponent in November's election, Joe Biden, has accused the president of lying to the American people.
